When booking an appointment, you may be asked by reception to briefly describe the nature of your problem/concern. This will help us to:
- Ensure you are seen urgently if deemed necessary
- Ensure you are seen by the correct team member
- Give the clinician an idea of your concern so they can look at the appropriate notes before calling you.
Please be assured that all calls are dealt with respect and in a strictly confidential manner to ensure we provide you with the best possible service.
We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice. If they are not available, we may ask you to see another doctor.
Nurse Appointments
You can make appointments with the nurse by calling Scots Gap Surgery on 01670 774216, or Stamfordham Surgery on 01661 886203.
Our nurse practitioner will carry out smears, HRT appointments, immunisations, blood tests etc. If you require an appointment for a review, such as diabetic, COPD, heart or asthma, you may be asked to have a blood test first then a telephone appointment for a review with the nurse.
Our Health Care Assistant may carry out some procedures such as blood taking, height and weight checks, and immunisations.
Saturday Appointments/Out of Hours
If you are unable to attend the surgery during normal opening hours, you may be offered an appointment at the Hub in Hexham or Corbridge. These clinics are only suitable for certain conditions and are open on a Saturday and some weekdays after 6pm. Please ask reception if this would suit your needs better.
Urgent Problems
If you have an urgent problem at any other time, please call NHS 111
